On October 8th, 2022, billions of people witnessed Kanye West tweet that he was going "Defcon 3 on Jewish people." The following month, Franky Bernstein, experienced more antisemitism online than he had in his entire life, simply because of his last name. In response, he began speaking out about it on TikTok, as few others seemed to be addressing the issue publicly. Though the hateful comments increased exponentially, they were quickly overshadowed by the overwhelming support from millions of people of all faiths.


While building an online community was crucial, like many people post-COVID, Franky longed for real-life connections. As a proud Jew who found traditional temple services difficult to engage with, he founded Nice Jewish™ with the mission of creating a modernized Jewish community for everyone. The guiding principle was simple: you don’t have to be Jewish; you just have to "Bee Nice."
